It was announced that the meeting with Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and the Chief of the General Staff and Operational Command will take place at 13:00 local time.

Kosiniak-Kamysz reported earlier that national agencies reacted immediately to the appearance of an unidentified object in Polish airspace.

Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz also announced that he was in contact with the president, the prime minister, the chief of staff and the commander of the operational command, and added that “the country is working”.

Jacek Goryszewski, representative of the Polish Army Operational Command, told TVN24 that an unidentified object flew into Polish airspace from the direction of Ukraine near the city of Zamość in southeastern Poland.

Goryszewski said the incident could be linked to a massive Russian attack on Ukraine.

Goryszewski added that the army was determining the circumstances of the crash and that the armed forces had taken all measures to protect Polish airspace.

This morning Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. Among other things, the Lviv region, on the border with Poland, was also attacked.
