The introduction of electronic labels made it easier to change prices at the beginning of the year, when this was necessary due to the VAT increase. Kaidi Kelt, head of retail at Euronics, says the VAT increase from 1 January was not the only reason why they decided to introduce electronic price tags. “It took a few more years and it wasn’t a quick process,” he says.
First of all, it was necessary to find out what the payback period of electronic signals is and whether it is worth switching to them. “We could have analyzed and measured endlessly, we even planned a pilot project,” recalls Kelt. At the same time the concept of the store was renewed. “The first new store opened in Riga in November 2022. We had to hurry so as not to do a stupid job or find two solutions,” says Kelt.
