Asi, who excelled in passing, helped Oklahoma State earn its first road win | basketball

Estonian basketball player Anna Gret Asi played a good game on Wednesday, helping Oklahoma State to its fifth consecutive victory in the NCAA student league.

Asi’s home university defeated Utah Tech 87:61, recording its fifth consecutive victory, but only its first win on the road. Oklahoma State has won seven and lost three games this season.

Former LSU and Baylor center Hannah Gusters, in her second game for Oklahoma State, had a career-best 27 points and five rebounds.

Asi remained on the field for 28 minutes and scored 17 points (6/12 from the field, 3/8 from long range), distributed nine assists and recovered three. The nine assists mark the best of the Estonian’s NCAA career, his previous individual best being six assists against Northwestern last November.

After starting the season with two wins and three losses, Oklahoma State has now won five straight. Asi is averaging 14.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.3 steals this season.
