It’s going to be a wild night! Estonian song favorite Puuluup will give a concert in the Uus Laine club

The evening concert at Uue Laine is divided into two parts. To the first set toprecedes ‘ live– an interview conducted by a music journalist Merit Husbands. Set toDJs choose the music before, during and after the event Joanna, Christian AND Taivo Tenso. Puuluup promises that some new songs will also be performed. “At least two. Or one. Three. Even the oldies.”

The wooden magnifying glass consists of two musicians: Teder branch (sooloartistina Pastacas) ja Marko Veisson (who is also an anthropologist and lecturer). The duo plays Hiiu kandils and uses loopers and other effect blocks, oscillating on the border between tradition and modern musical styles, flirting with world music, subway‘I as well as with pop.

The duo released the first album “Süuta mu lumi” in spring 2018, the double single “Kasekesed / Käpapuu” was released on 7-inch vinyl in spring 2020. The album “The Last Skier” was released in fall. of 2021. All songs were released by the record label Úunaviks.

Live– as a group, Puuluup has been giving concerts for more than seven years. In addition to numerous performances in Estonia, they have performed in the United States, China, Germany, Finland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Sweden, Lithuania and Latvia.

Last week, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recognized Puuluupi with a cultural award “for bringing the Ugrian essence to the world.”

At the Estonian Song 2024 competition, this year Puuluup will perform with the band 5minus with the song “We know nothing about (these) drugs”. The song was released a few weeks ago and has since risen to the top of the Spotify and YouTube music charts.

The start is good, but 5minus rapper Kohver still holds his horses: “Until people see us on stage, you can’t be sure of anything! There will be pearls in the semi-finals and we will all have to plan our best form.”

According to the band, the song is about how their fame often surpasses themselves, about prejudice and how you still have to be yourself. And obviously avoiding (successfully) mental poisons.

The song received warm reception and approval even among ardent Eurovision fans. The well-known Eurovision blog Wiwibloggs is currently voting, where the song by 5minus and Puuluubi are fighting for first place with Ollie, who came second in the Estonian song last year.
