At the vote on Pärnu’s inclusive budget, one idea stood out from the rest

Ideas for the inclusive budget competition can be submitted from May 29th to June 19th. 18 ideas were received, of which the committee selected 14.

The ideas of the subdistricts of the central city of Pärnu and of Audru and Paikus, which received the largest number of votes from the ranking created as a result of the referendum, will be implemented, which, based on the expected cost, will fall within the limits of the amounts allocated for the overall budget. This year, no proposal was submitted to the Tõstamaa district.

While analyzing the ideas presented in the spring, the committee evaluated their positive impact on urban space and residents’ sense of community, the feasibility of the plans during the following fiscal year, and possible costs in the future.

In the first week, a total of 285 positive votes were given to 14 ideas. The most successful so far is the construction of an outdoor climbing wall in the beach area, which has the support of 120 people. In second place is the construction of a paddle court in Vana-Pärnu with 31 votes, and in third place is the renovation of the Rääma swimming pool, supported by 22 people.

Nearby, for example, the opening of a playground and an outdoor gym await the vote. Audrus awaits support for the creation of a low adventure course.

80,000 euros have been allocated to the overall budget, of which up to 50,000 euros will be allocated to the central city of Pärnu and up to 10,000 euros to each sub-municipality.

Only residents of Pärnu and sub-municipalities whose residence according to the population register is located in the municipality of Pärnu are entitled to participate in the vote, which will last until the end of the year. The vote is secret.

To vote you need to access the Volis online environment. You can only vote electronically by identifying yourself with an identity document. Everyone can choose up to three favorites.

Last year’s Pärnu inclusive budget referendum was won by the Vana-Pärnu adventure park, the Tõstamaa low adventure trail and the Vaskrääma playground.
