Both the Pärnu County Sports Association and the city of Pärnu shared the prizes. During the festive gala evening, the best in the world took off their cream golf disc‘ar Kristin Tattar: The 31-year-old discus wizard was awarded the title of female athlete of the year in Pärnu county and the city of Pärnu and the sports performance of the year award for her second gold at the World Championships.

Besides that, Tattar, who did an excellent job in the main competitions last year, was awarded the Sportsman of the Year award by the Pärnuma think tank from the Estonian cultural capital. The legendary Vändra man Erich Perner, the coach of Rein Taaramäe, Tanel Kangert and many other cyclists, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Cultural Fund. The annual prize of the Kulka sports event went to the Pärnumaa Sports Union for organizing the Victory Day Marathon.

The Pärnu motorcycle club was chosen as the best male athlete of the county and city of Pärnu square Kevin Saar, who made history in the world’s toughest ATV national championship series in America, becoming the first non-American to stand on the podium at one of the stages, finishing third. The 23-year-old Lime finished ninth overall in the series and earned rookie of the season honors. The five-time European champion was unable to come to collect the award because he is preparing for a new season in America-Saarland, however he sent a video greeting to the participants of the gala evening.
