Deadly Encounter: The Houston McDonald’s Murder Case

US News

An enraged individual who reportedly murdered a Houston attorney following a dispute over his McDonald’s meal has been identified as a 57-year-old man with a significant criminal history and is currently on the run.

Anthony Martin Landry is facing a murder charge in connection with the death of Jeffrey Limmer inside the fast-food establishment at around 6 p.m. on May 4, as announced by the Houston Police Department.

Landry demanded a refund from the McDonald’s staff on Houston’s West Interstate Highway 10 service road, leading to an altercation with Limmer who tried to defuse the situation.

Despite Limmer's efforts to calm Landry down, the situation escalated into a physical confrontation outside the store, according to KTRK.

Landry proceeded to push Limmer to the ground, retrieve a firearm from his vehicle, and fatally shoot the attorney multiple times.

The assailant fled the scene in a blue Ford pickup truck from the early 2000s and is currently evading law enforcement.

Limmer was pronounced dead at the scene.

At the time of the incident, Landry was out on a $10,000 bond for a felony aggravated assault charge after causing bodily harm to a family member with a cane on February 17, 2024, according to court records reviewed by The Post.

He was due to appear in court on May 10.

In the 1990s, Landry had several encounters with the criminal justice system for offenses including crack cocaine possession, evading detention, and forgery.

Limmer's family is hopeful that the perpetrator will be apprehended and held accountable for the attorney's death.

“Our family is relieved to know that the suspect has been identified, and we hope for his swift capture to prevent further harm,” Limmer's family expressed in a statement obtained by Fox 26 Houston. “Additionally, we extend our prayers for the safety of law enforcement in their pursuit of justice.

“We appreciate the community's overwhelming support and love, and we request privacy as we mourn the loss of our beloved Jeff.”

Controversy Surrounding Apple’s New iPad Ad: Apology and Similarities to LG Ad Raised Concerns

Apple’s new iPad advert. /provided by Apple

Around Apple’s new iPad Pro ad, which unusually apologized and stopped airing on TV due to controversy over disparaging artists, there were even suspicions of similarities to an ad shown by LG in 2008.

On the 9th (local time), IT media outlet Nine to Five Google reported, “Ironically, the iPad ad released by Apple is very similar to the LG Renoir (KC910) ad in 2008.”

Apple’s new ad depicts analog devices and tools such as a trumpet, piano, camera, and paint can be put into a large hydraulic press and crushed, leaving just one iPad. The intention was to convey the meaning that various creative tools would eventually be integrated into one iPad, but instead it faced criticism for commercially exploiting the efforts of creators.

To make matters worse, suspicions have been raised, mainly abroad, that this ad is similar to the LG Renoir ad from 2008. In the LG ad from 16 years ago,

The two sides of the coin and the Recovery Fund

· Banks were boosted yesterday by data on new loans.

· The average interest rate rose to… 6.24% in March.

· Therefore, the gap with the new deposits opened at 5.71 units.

· That is, for new deposits the banks give an interest rate of 0.53%…

· Sad to think that inflation alone is over 2%.

· However, from the banks’ side this is positive, as they keep their interest income high, and this is also visible on the dashboard.

· We are not sure, however, whether they will achieve the credit expansion targets, which analysts have focused quite a bit on.

· May the Recovery Fund be well…

The National Team and Maximos’ hidden card

· And since we are talking about banks… what about the National Bank?

· More than 8 euros now with an eye on placement.

· Whatever scenarios are traded here and there about the timing of the new placement, the title continues unabated higher.

· Even testifying that the developments are close.

· But as we learn it is a card that the Maximos Palace keeps to throw it when it deems it necessary.

· All scenarios are open and any that qualify are just guesses.

· This is
