Yesterday Pakendikeskus, which otherwise makes Estonians laugh with humorous advertisements, published a post on its Facebook account, announcing that Alar Karis had visited their shop. “They say that the customer is the king, but sometimes it also happens that the customer is the president instead. And that’s exactly what happened today, when none other than the President of the Republic of Estonia, Mr. Alar Karis, visited our store (who by the way, upon entering the store, said: “Well, you’ll see, it’s a real store)”, the company commented on the important guest’s visit to the store.
“In any case we are very happy that the most important man in the country has made the necessary personal purchases from us, and I think we can say that the advertising is working!” Pakendikeskus also said. They added a photo of Alar Karis to the post, standing in front of the cash register with several unpacked cardboard boxes behind him. In the photo the president seemed happy with the purchase.
If they usually manage to publish funny announcements, this time the comments section of Pakendikeskus’ post was instead occupied by jokes. “When will the country run out of cardboard,” one of the users who got the most reactions described what was happening in the photo. “I have the same shopping habits as the president,” another found.
