Latest album Taylor Swift released on April 19, 2024, The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD), has made a new history on the Spotify streaming service.
Reported Scoreboardon Thursday (4/25), the 31-song album officially became the first and only album to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify in a week.
This record was achieved in just five days, from April 19th to 24th.
This result adds to the TTPD record on Spotify. Previously, Swift’s 11th album was her first and only album to surpass 300 million streams on its debut day.
“History is made!” she tweeted Spotify via X on Saturday (4/20) evening Indonesian time.
“On April 19, 2024, Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department became the first album in Spotify history to have more than 300 million streams in one day,” he continued.
This achievement also extends Taylor Swift’s record for controlling Spotify. She previously recorded records up to Midnights in 2022 and 1989 (Taylor’s Version) in 2023.
