Estonian swimmers placed second at the Nordic Championships | I swim

The Nordic swimming championships took place last weekend at the Aura aquatic center in Tartu.

On the final day of the competition, Maari Randväli, Inessa Sorokin, Miriam Jürisoo and Ksenia Bažanova set a new Estonian junior record in the 4×100 m freestyle relay with a time of 3:50.88. Alan Smok (100 m backstroke; 53.14), Aurelia Roos (100 m freestyle; 56.91), Lars Kuljus (200 m freestyle; 1.46.31) and the relay team Cevin Anders Siim, Artur Tobler, Jako Joosep Viirpuu won the championship . and Kuljus (4×100 m freestyle relay; 18.3.91).

Estonian swimmers won a total of 15 gold, 15 silver and 13 bronze medals. In the team competition, Estonia placed second with 324 points. Denmark placed first (366 points) and Sweden came third (322 points).

Lars Kuljus earned the title of best swimmer with 816 points. Among the swimmers, the Danish Josephine Kruse was awarded (799 p). The best male junior was the Norwegian Sander Kiar Sorensen (800 points) and the female junior was the Danish Ida Skov Kragh (790 points). Denmark’s Alexander Hillhouse (1237 points) was awarded the best men’s pair swimmer, while Susannah Kauli (849 points) was awarded among the women’s pair swimmers.

Swimmers from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland and the Faroe Islands took part in the competition. There were a total of 319 athletes competing, 57 of whom were Paralympic swimmers. All results can be viewed here.
