Recently, Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Tindall visited one with her husband Mike podcastsis run by rugby legend Rob Burrow. On the programme, members of the royal family talked about the funny nicknames Britain’s blue bloods have given themselves, as well as sport.
Mike revealed on the show that he had a bizarre nickname chosen for future king Prince William. “I call him One Pint Willy,” Mike said and explained in more detail how this choice came about. “He’s not the most alcoholic person,” he said.
Since Mike is a former rugby player, he said the sport includes occasional snaps with a teammate, the Daily Mail reports. However, Prince William was supposed to be a “one-drinks man”, which is why he was given that nickname.
When Mike mentioned William’s nickname on the show, his wife Zara burst out laughing and scolded Mike a bit. “For God’s sake. You’ve made a lot of trouble now,” she said jokingly.
Burrow then asked the show if Mike and Zara had any nicknames for each other. The couple revealed that they are inviting each other munchkins‘iteks, the Estonian equivalent of which would be “lower case”. Mike couldn’t remember on the show where such a nickname came from. Zara, however, said that he had called her husband “kitten” in her telephone contacts.
