Höllhumer’s films are made through performative filmmaking: they are spectacular events in which everyday activities alternate with intense and brutal sessions. PerformanceFor them, scenography and the use of various everyday props are important, which acquire the feeling of a masquerade during the action. Loud, unpredictable, sci-fi scenes serve as both fun and terrifying rituals.

The exhibition is by Höllhumeri squirt– further development of the cinematic video works “Parrot the Parent” and “Sandra’s WG”, in which the performers take on roles of animals and machines. The action revolves around dangerous moments where injuries and direct intent to kill are not excluded in the plot. The interaction between Höllhumer’s fictional characters culminates in actions that combine the real and the imaginary, focusing on the uncanny and evoking frightening moments. The video work “Voyage” and the spatial design surrounding it were created especially for the exhibition in the EKA Gallery.
