GOOD NEWS ⟩ IKEA does not increase prices

The VAT increase implemented earlier this year will lead to an increase in prices of products and services in Estonia. For IKEA, affordability is one of the company’s main pillars and prices for most products are kept at the level before the VAT increase.

“At IKEA we have set ourselves the goal that our functional, well-designed, sustainable and high-quality home furnishing solutions are also affordable. This is more important now than ever, as many people are faced with increasing of prices resulting from changes in the cost of living and VAT,” underlined Marko Põder, market manager of IKEA Estonia.

“Moved by the vision of creating a better daily life for many, we as a company will bear the VAT increase and IKEA Estonia’s prices will not increase due to the tax increase,” Põder added. According to him, this is possible thanks to the optimization of the company’s operations and the efficient organization of work.

IKEA regularly reviews the prices of its products so that as many people as possible can afford products that improve their home life.

“We constantly monitor and adjust prices and take into account increases or decreases in costs that reflect the general economic situation and affect us, other companies and the rest of society. At the same time, we try to keep prices as affordable as possible. This January, thanks to the company’s efficiency and optimized operations, prices for most products will remain at the same level as before the VAT increase. Prices in Swedish restaurants also remain stable,” said Põder.
