“Isn’t this a bit of a bittersweet moment?” Valter Soosalu, who was supposed to go on a Christmas tour with Jarek Kasari, has changed stage partners

“It’s a bit of a bittersweet moment, but I can’t help but smile when I see this beautiful poster. Really, it’s a bit of a shame, but that’s how it is, that we both had colds during rehearsals and all the other things that they keep us away from rehearsals,” Soosalu explained on the program “Ëhtu!”.

According to the musician, it is the first time for him that a decision has been made just a few weeks before the concert that such a composition will instead be staged next year. “At the moment it would have been wiser to take things on a completely different course,” he added.

With the second move, Soosalu intended to tour with pianist Holger Marjamaa instead. The men have been friends since childhood and have also been classmates for 13 years (including kindergarten). “In a way, you can say that this is a really new and surprising twist, but actually Holger and I have been playing instruments and making music together for so long, growing up as musicians, that it’s even kind of strange that we we haven’t had any concerts together until now,” Soosalu said.

The musician joked that since Kasar lives in the same apartment building with him and Marjamaa is across the street, technically the promise of going on a Christmas tour with the neighbor will be fulfilled. “In this sense nothing has changed,” he added.
