Last chance. The train journeys made famous by the Harry Potter films may be coming to an end

A train journey along the famous Glenfinnan Bridge in Scotland, made famous by the Harry Potter films, could become just a memory in the new year. This is why Jacobite steam train the indicated train no longer complies with safety regulations, in particular with the regulations relating to door closures.

In other words, UK railway law requires railway carriage doors to be fitted with central locking systems. However, the company that operates the train announced that the new door locking system would cost more than eight million euros, destroying ten years of profits.

The fight to preserve the railway line has been going on for a long time. The company has already received two 10-year time extensions. Even today, a process is ongoing regarding the continuation or discontinuation of the railway line.

While the train’s future is uncertain, tickets are still on sale for next season’s travel (starting March 24). A return day ticket for an adult costs 76 euros, while a seat in the upper class compartment costs 464 euros.
