Mazingue and Gaidajenko placed in the top six in rhythm dance | figure skating

Estonian ice dance couple Solene Mazengue – Marko Jevgeni Gaidajenko took sixth place in rhythmic dance at the ISU Challenger Series figure skating competition held in Zagreb.

The Estonian pair earned 63.86 points for rhythmic dance, just 0.11 points short of their personal best. The judges awarded them 28 points for the components and 35.86 points for the technical elements.

The Lithuanian pair Allison Reed – Saulius Ambrolevicius had the best performance with 81.19 points. The next two places on the podium belonged to American couples. Second place went to Emilea Zingas – Vadim Kolesnik (78.23 p), followed by Isabella Flores – Ivan Desjatov (72.47 p).

In fourth place were the British Phebe Bekker – James Hernandez (66.78 p) and the Australian Holly Harris – Jason Chan (66.12 p).

The free ice dance program begins Saturday lunchtime at 1 p.m. Niina Petrõkina, Nataly Langerbaur and Kristina Lisovskaja will take to the court on Friday evening in the women’s singles in Zagreb.
