Official! Žalgiris has given up one of its defenders

Žalgiris has decided to give up Hollins, known for his defensive skills, to bring a slightly different type of player into the team, writes BasketNews.com.

“He is an amazing person. The best teammate you can find. He helps the coach and his teammates. Whatever happens, I am very grateful for the way he did his job,” said Žalgiris coach Andrea Trincieri after Friday’s defeat against Barcelona.

Hollins appeared in eight EuroLeague games, averaging 3.9 points and one rebound per game in 12 minutes.

In two Lithuanian Premier League games, Hollins averaged 5.5 points, 2 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in 17 minutes.

Due to EuroLeague rules, he will not be able to play in the EuroLeague for the rest of the season as he represented Žalgiris after the transfer window expired.
