O’Sullivan apologized to his opponent after the win Pool & Pool

Snooker world number one Ronnie O’Sullivan defeated Barry Hawkins (WS 15) in the quarter-finals of the Masters to reach the top four for the 15th time.

O’Sullivan started the match with a win, but lost the next and soon found themselves 2-3 down. The world number one tied the score at 3-3 and then won three more games to finally secure a 6-3 victory.

“I had to try on 25 different tees before I found one that fit. Then I hit a couple of balls and things got better,” O’Sullivan said.

“After the match, I apologized to Barry because my performance was terrible. If I had played better, I’m sure Barry would have too, and therefore our battle would have been much more exciting,” he continued.

“I didn’t feel the pressure at all, maybe that’s why I played badly. On Saturday we’ll see how it goes. Today I’m going to Champney (spa town – ed.) to relax. a massage and a pedicure, maybe it will help”, added O’ Sullivan.

Seven-time Masters winner O’Sullivan will face Shaun Murphy (WS 6th) or Jack Lisowski (WS 16th) in the semi-final.
