Panther launched seven pucks into the Kaunas goal | Ice Hockey

Estonian ice hockey club HC Panther achieved a solid victory in the Latvian Premier League on Friday, beating the team from the city of Kaunas 7:3 (2:1, 4:1, 1:1) on home ice.

Panther were behind in the 7th minute at Haaberst Ice Hall, but Rasmus Kiige’s 9th-minute goal and Shuma Kinebuchi’s 17th-minute goal sent the Estonian club into the break with a 2:1 lead.

The Panther continued with great momentum in the second period and went ahead 5-1 thanks to goals from Saveli Novikov, Nikita Puzakov and Mihkel Vorangu. Kaunas City responded seconds later, but Daniil Fursa’s goal 40 seconds before the end of the period gave the Panthers a 6-2 lead.

In the decisive period, Fursa scored another goal, but Kaunas City still managed to reach the goal 16 seconds before the end of the match. However, Panther pulled out a powerful 7–3 victory.

The Estonian club is fifth in the Latvian Premier League, which unites the Baltic clubs, having collected 24 points from 22 matches. The Panthers won 12 games (one in overtime) and lost 10. Jelgava Zemgale, which collected 38 points, continues to be the leader of the championship. Panther will have a rematch against Kaunas on Saturday.
