Late on Friday, police arrested a 61-year-old man in Kohtla-Järve on suspicion of killing a 59-year-old man.
According to the Ida prefecture, around 9pm on Friday a 61-year-old man reported to the alarm center that his acquaintance no longer woke up in an apartment building in Kohtla-Järve. An ambulance attended the scene and confirmed the man’s death and brought the police with it to ascertain the circumstances.
According to Aigro Raudsepa, operations director of the Eastern Prefecture, based on preliminary information there is reason to suspect that a 61-year-old man stabbed a 59-year-old man with a knife, causing his death. .
“The suspect showed signs of alcohol consumption. We have arrested the man as a suspect in the crime and will find out all the precise circumstances of the incident in the criminal proceedings initiated,” Raudsepp added.
