Rakvere extreme athlete Kaspar Eevald will conquer Everest

“Everyone who knows me knows that when my mind really stops on something, I don’t stop until the intended goal is achieved,” said Kaspar Eevald at the presentation of the future expedition, which took place today in the TV Tower of Tallinn, at a symbolic height, on the 21st floor. According to him, Eevald has reached another peak, where he will face his biggest and most extreme challenge yet: climbing to the top of the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest.

According to Kaspar Eevald, due to the exceptionally low atmospheric pressure at the top of Everest, there is only 30% oxygen compared to the air we breathe at sea level in Estonia. At 8,000 meters altitude the so-called “death zone” begins, where the human body stops functioning due to extreme lack of oxygen. For example, long-range aircraft fly at approximately the same height.
