As a result of the busy summer, the young artist began to feel exhausted. “In spring I started working in the scooter industry. Summer was the high season and we were very active. At the same time, I did an internship at Swedbank. Although the work was very intense and exciting, it was also from nine at five they started to be a burden,” the rapper said on Radio 2’s “Pulss”.
“It inevitably becomes a burden when there are different things. We still had to think about the world of music. We had to release new songs. We still had to make a video. I’m an independent artist also in the sense that we’re just manager and I. You actually have to do everything yourself. Think first about advertising on social media and how the story could reach people,” Säm said.
Although the rapper works hard on many fronts, according to him, music is still something that exists and will remain. “I can’t help it. Even though I’ve been involved in business and entrepreneurship, which is also very exciting, I’ve realized that I like money as a concept more than a tool. Nice things are great, but building something from zero to one hundred or being part of the process myself, is much more intense,” Säm explained.
In addition to music, Sämi’s focus is currently also on completing school. “I’m studying economics at TUT in my third year. I’m still trying to finish this bachelor’s degree on time, so that the final thesis doesn’t have to wait until next year,” Säm said.
For the following year, Säm set himself the goal of releasing a second album. “Last year I released about 18 songs. This year I released four. /…/ For me, it’s too little. I feel like I haven’t released any music. For some pop artists, it’s too much, the radios can’t send everything and they can’t receive everything, but as a musician I would like to do more,” Säm said.
The new single “Silmad Kinni” is a year-old demo that remained in the rapper’s drawer for a long time.
