so many stories could happily compete in short story contests

Manfred Kalmsten, the author’s name, has been wandering in the orbit of science fiction for more than ten years, initially still in the discussion websites of those interested in the topic and in other environments, which he keeps somewhat to himself and that the most common writing The public has dared to accept and take for granted for a long time. Perhaps writers have lived through those scary times and science fiction has finally merged with other genres on equal terms. Someone always argues against, I support.

However, all four of Kalmsten’s books published so far are less than four years old, and the author’s slow entry into literature before he began publishing books undoubtedly benefited him. Stalker already has five annual science fiction awards under its belt – because the time to publish individual stories wasn’t wasted – and that’s a solid achievement. Many stories could compete happily in other short story competitions, and successfully.

But gut feeling says that Kalmsten much prefers the world of fantasy, science fiction in the broad sense, which plays with times, myths and fairy tales, a somewhat postmodern mix, creative freedom in the best sense of the term. The opportunity to invent and use what has already been invented, exists and has been. Delightfully basking in antiquity, the dark world of sagas, the old world and other realms, Kalmsten weaves together something still fragile, but, if lucky, unprecedented. All that remains is to continue creating.

I don’t think the author has reached his peak. However, I feel the commitment and passionate approach promise surprises for the time to come. Keep the hustle, the spirit and the mind free. After all, there are some readings and experiences to rely on.
