Stone back: Russians fear the arrival of F-16s in the Ukrainian arsenal | foreign country

In recent weeks, the Russian military has bombed various Ukrainian military facilities, including airstrips. This indicates that Russia considers the arrival of F-16 fighter jets in the Ukrainian arsenal dangerous, said Colonel Ants Kiviselg, head of the Defense Intelligence Center. He added that more massive Russian missile attacks are expected in the near future.

Kiviselg told a news conference that Russia has actively used long-range bombers and Kalibr missiles in recent weeks to target Ukraine’s military, defense industry and infrastructure.

“Across the country, power plants, port and railway infrastructure, military airports, weapons and lunar depots, military educational institutions and defense industry companies involved in the production and repair of armaments were affected,” Kiviselg said.

“The violation of flight paths indicates that the Russians consider the arrival of F-16s in the Ukrainian arsenal to be dangerous,” Kiviselg said.

Kiviselg stressed that Russia’s tactic is to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defense.

Kiviselg noted that with the coming cold weather, we can expect even more massive attacks from Russia, as Russia currently produces more ammunition than it uses.

Kiviselg also said that if Russia fired 10,000 bullets a day at Ukraine, Ukraine would respond with 2,000 bullets a day.

Kiviselg said that the main direction of the Russian armed forces is the city of Avdijivka, around and within which major battles take place, but which the Russians have so far failed to completely surround.

According to him, it is likely that an attempt will be made to capture or destroy the supply routes of the Ukrainian armed forces leading to Avdijivka, to force the city’s defenders to surrender or retreat to the west, allowing the Russian armed forces to occupy the city. .

“However, the movement on both sides is not very fast, because in addition to the actions of the opposite side, the maneuver is also limited by the established minefields and the cold is coming. Snowfall limits the effective use of drones, it is said that the armored units are deployed more like guns dug into the ground, and due to the slippery nature, only tracked vehicles are used to move into positions,” Kiviselg said.

Kiviselg said the Ukrainian Armed Forces bridgehead built on the Dnieper River still stands, although it is under constant indirect fire and infantry attacks from the Russian Armed Forces.
