Tallinna Kalev scored 95 points and ended a 17-game losing streak | basketball

In the Estonian-Latvian basketball championship, Tallinna Kalev achieved its first victory since the end of September, when it defeated Viimsi 95:75 away from home.

Kalev won all four quarters in Viimsi, increased the lead to 12 points at halftime and did not allow the home team to get closer than eight points in the second half.

Kalev’s leading scorer was Bailey Hardy, who scored 26 points and shared seven assists in a half-hour, James Moore added 20 points and 13 rebounds and Brandis Raley-Ross added 12 points. Viims was led by Artem Kovalov, who scored 24 points, and Stefan Vaaks, who scored 21 points.

Kalev won their first two matches of the season in the Estonian-Latvian championship, beating Rapla 78:72 on 22 September and Valmiera 87:79 eight days later, but then lost 17 matches in a row. With three wins and 17 defeats, Kalev is ahead of only the University of Latvia in the standings. Viimsi, which suffered its eighth consecutive defeat, is 13th with five wins and 18 defeats.
