The Austrian mountain skier, who had started a relationship with the coach, left the team | Alpine skiing

Austrian alpine skier Franziska Gritsch will continue the season separately from the rest of the team due to her relationship with the coach.

Gritsch’s 26-year-old lover, Florian Stengg, worked as an assistant coach of the women’s team, but this situation was not acceptable to the Austrian Ski Association.

According to Herbert Mandl, head of Alpine skiing at the Ski Association, the neutrality condition was called into question and Stenggi was offered a job in another role, but did not accept.

Gritsch can continue the competitive season, but separately from the rest of the team both in training and in competitions, that is, he does not share accommodation with his teammates, for example.

Gritsch, who has stood on the podium three times in the MK series during his career, finished fifth in the Alpine double race and seventh in the parallel slalom of the spring championship, and was part of the Austrian team that took fourth place in the competition in teams. Since 2019 he has also won team silver.
