At the moment, Estonian cinemas are showing the dark Danish drama “The Promised Land”, which is largely on the shoulders of Mads Mikkelsen, but if you want something a little more energetic and cheerful (though equally comforting!), then take Thomas “The Next Circle” by Vinterberg.
One of the strongest films of 2020, a black comedy-drama with Oscar and European Film Award winners in foreign language. Martin (Mads Mikkelsen), Tommy (Thomas Bo Larsen), Nikolaj (Magnus Millang) and Peter (Lars Ranthe) are middle-aged school teachers, whose lives have lost passion and excitement.
Based on the theory that people would benefit from a small, constant dose of alcohol in their blood, three school teachers set up an experiment and try to maintain a constant, mild state of inebriation every day.
