The eighth finalists were determined at the Asian Championship | Soccer

On the last day of the group stage of the Asian Football Championship in Qatar, South Korea and Malaysia faced the most heated battle, which ended in a 3-3 draw.

South Korea won the first half 1-0, but Malaysia scored two goals in the first half of the second half.

With Ahmad Hazmi’s own goal in the 83rd minute, the Koreans finally managed to equalize and Son Heung-Min scored a penalty in extra time.

However, this does not mean a victory for South Korea, because the referees gave many extra minutes and Romel Morales even managed to equalize in the 15th extra minute.

This handed the Group E victory to Bahrain, who at the same time were 1-0 better than Jordan.

After Bahrain with six points, South Korea (5) and Jordan (4) also advance. Malaysia (1), who opened the scoring at the last moment, were restricted to the group stage.

The last round of Group F featured only draws. Saudi Arabia and Thailand played 0-0 and both passed. Kyrgyzstan and Oman drew 1:1 and both remained in the subgroup.

In the round of 16, Australia – Indonesia, Tajikistan – United Arab Emirates, Iraq – Jordan, Qatar – Palestine, Uzbekistan – Thailand, Saudi Arabia – South Korea, Bahrain – Japan and Iran – Syria will face each other.

The Asian Championship will be held for the 18th time. This year’s champion will be announced on February 10 at Lusail Stadium.
