The last day of the Baltic youth tournament gave victories to Estonia: hats off to the boys

In the first match of the day, Finland won 32:29 against Latvia and also secured the tournament victory. Vili Leppänen was chosen as the best of the northern neighbors. In the second match, Eesti2 lost to Finland 2004 29:22 after a tied first half. The best of the match were goalkeepers Patric Kurvits and Alexander Segersven.

The Estonian boys of 2006 continued against Lithuania. However, our country’s team managed to turn the match in their favor with 35:31 after a tied first half. Kristjan Heinla was chosen as the best in Estonia. The white-blue-blacks finished the tournament in second place, on equal points with the winner.

“We made many technical errors during the match, both in defense and attack. In some situations, the ball could have been passed at the right time and our team would not have been able to manage the opposing linesman. Fortunately, we still managed to score a lot , to take the winning points and, all in all, to prepare well for the next selection tournament”, Henri Markus Takkis, selected as the best in Estonia, said yesterday after the match. .

The Estonian boys born in 2004 finished the tournament against the same opponent. Our team had no problems during the match and in the end we achieved a solid victory and first place in the tournament with the result 38:26. Karl Markus Kannel was chosen as the best Estonian.

“We played two very similar games. With a strong defensive game, we were able to execute many quick attacks and score easily from there. Despite the long period of absence we also managed to find good positional solutions. Hats off to the boys, who at the end of the year were full of will and kept the team spirit high,” 2004 men’s coach Kaspar Lees summed up the tournament.

The 2006 team will train in Tallinn in early January and then participate in the selection tournament of the Czech M18 European Championship. Young men born in 2004 will hold a joint camp with men a few days later.
