The neighbor’s businessman has a big worry: “the banks could already start making interesting offers”.

The decline in construction volumes is largely explained by the decrease in purchasing power, which in turn is caused by the high level of construction prices and unfavorable credit conditions.

“Existing construction volumes give rise to justified concern that as credit conditions improve and demand recovers, the market will not be able to meet residents’ needs for sustainable and energy-efficient living spaces,” Ekša indicates a possible scenario. He sees that in this case some residents would be forced to buy apartments on the secondary market and risk that these surfaces will not satisfy them. Ekša believes that banks should already present attractive offers that would significantly stimulate borrowing for the purchase of surfaces with maximum energy efficiency. “This can restore consumer demand more quickly, while at the same time allowing builders to immediately increase construction volumes and thus avoid a shortage of new homes on the market.”
