The new year comes with frosty weather

In the first days of the new year, the air temperature tends to decrease.

The night of January 1st is cloudy with clear spells. On the north coast it sometimes snows and can be windy. The east wind blows from 1 to 7, on the islands and the coast, the east and north-east wind blows from 5 to 10 meters per second. It will be cold from -7 to -14 degrees, on the coast up to -4 degrees.

The morning will be partly cloudy and rainy. The wind is flat, moderate from the north-east and east in some places on the islands and the coast, and minus 8-12 degrees, from 4 to 8 on the islands.

Cloud cover varies throughout the day, and in northern Estonia it sometimes snows and blows. The prevailing wind from the east is 4 to 8, sometimes 12, on the islands and coasts 5 to 12, sometimes 18 meters per second. The air temperature will be between -7 and -13 degrees, on the coast up to -4 degrees, but in the evening the temperature will drop to -20 degrees in the eastern regions.

In the following days cloud cover will be intermittent. Heavier snowfall is expected on Wednesday and Thursday, especially in coastal areas. If the temperature continues to decrease until Thursday, the frost will ease a little on Friday.
