The number of copies of Estonian newspapers decreased in the year | Estonia

According to the Media Union, the number of newspapers published in Estonia in December decreased compared to the previous year. Maaleht lost the most during the year in terms of print numbers.

Among the newspapers, Õhtulehe had a circulation of 32,400 copies and Eesti Päevaleh 8,000 in December, while a year ago in December the corresponding circulation was 33,900 in Õhtulehe and 9,400 in Eesti Päevaleh.

From 2021 Postimees will not publish its number of prints and number of subscribers.

The most circulated weekly in December was Maaleht, with a circulation of 36,100 copies, compared to 42,400 a year ago.

In December the circulation of Eesti Ekspress was 19,500 copies, while last December Eesti Ekspress had a circulation of 21,100 copies.

Of the provincial newspapers, only the print numbers of the so-called independent publications are published on the media association page, i.e. the publications of the Postimees Group (Järva Teataja, Lõuna-Eesti Postimees, Pärnu Postimees, Sakala, Tartu Postimees, Virumaa Teataja) not I’m there. December figures were published by Lõunaleht (circulation 5,000, same number one year earlier), Vooremaa (2,100 in December, 2,200 one year earlier) and Võrumaa Teataja (circulation 3,000 in December, same number one year earlier).

In parallel with the decrease in the number of printed pages, the number of digital subscriptions to publications has increased.
