The producer price index of industrial production fell by 3.3% | Economy

The producer price index of industrial production, which characterizes the change in prices of industrial products manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, decreased by 3.3% compared to November last year.

According to Estonian statistics, in November the index fell by 0.1% compared to October.

Compared to November 2022, the index was more affected by falling prices in the supply of electricity and thermal energy, wood processing and the production of wood and paper products. The opposite effect was exerted by the increase in prices in the production of electrical materials, industrial machinery and equipment and electronic equipment.

According to the chief analyst of the Estonian Statistical Office, Eveli Šokman, compared to October the index was mainly affected by the decline in prices of the production of heating oils, wood products and industrial machinery and equipment. “The index was also influenced by the increase in the production of electricity, plastic products and electronic equipment,” Šokman added.
