In the MK cross-country skiing stage in Oberhof, Germany, Marko Kilp was the only Estonian in the classic sprint to fail to qualify.

Kilp took 41st place in qualifying, falling 7.52 seconds behind the fastest. Finland’s Iivo Niskanen was the last to reach the quarterfinals, losing to the fastest by 6.33 seconds.

The best in qualifying was the Norwegian Harald Östberg Amundsen, who preceded his teammate Johannes Hösflot Kläbo by 0.06 seconds. Sweden’s Jonna Sundling was the fastest among the women in qualifying, ahead of teammates Linn Svahn by 2.66 seconds and Frida Karlsson by 4.39 seconds.

The Norwegians then achieved a quadruple victory in the final: Erik Valnes was followed by Ansgar Evensen, Even Northug and Harald Östberg Amundsen. Kläbo had to settle for seventh place.

Among the women, the same women from the qualifier finished in the top three, but in a different order: Svahn took the stage win ahead of Karlsson and Sundling.
