The Tammearu club achieved a worthy victory in the Volleyball Champions League

Estonian volleyball player Märt Tammearu’s Tours club achieved a nice 3:0 home win (25:22, 25:18, 27:25) against Rzeszow’s Asseco Resovia in the group stage of the Champions League.

All three matches were somewhat similar as the visitors were initially ahead, but Tours turned the tables in their favor midway through the match. In the third match Resovia also had the go-ahead at 25:24, but the French club ended the match with three points in a row.

Tammearu took the field episodically in the third game, the most productive of Tours were Antoine Pothron with 13 (+7), Julien Faganas with 12 (+9) and Michael Parkinson with ten (+9) points. Stephen Boyer scored 19 points (+11) for Resovia.

With this victory, Tours took a big step towards the qualifications, because the Italian club from Trentino is the leader with four victories in group B, followed by Tours (3-2) and Resovia (2-3). Slovenian club Ljubljana ACH Volley is last with zero.

The winners of the subgroups directly access the quarter-finals. The second team and the best third of the five subgroups start one round earlier.

In the last round Tours will face Ljubljana at home while Resovia will face Trentino away.
