TTJA warns against an electronic merchant who does not resolve consumer disputes

The Agency for Consumer Protection and Technical Supervision (TTJA) advises consumers to carefully consider possible dangers and risks when making transactions in the IKOLY OÜ online store , the trader also sells goods through the social networking site Facebook. Since December 2023, 38 applications regarding the trader have been submitted to the Consumer Disputes Commission. More and more consumers are likely to file complaints against the merchant, as complaints have been increasing every day in recent days.

Consumers who contacted the Consumer Disputes Commission placed orders both on the website and through a group created on the social networking site Facebook. According to the appeals, the trader does not deliver the goods on time, does not provide adequate customer service, does not allow consumers to withdraw from the contract and does not return money to consumers in the event of withdrawal from the contract. Today the entrepreneur closed the website, but in the past a member of the board of directors of IKOLY OÜ also made sales offers via social media.

The Agency asked the trader for explanations and started proceedings to verify the circumstances relating to the appeals. According to the explanations provided to the Agency, the company does not have the means to process consumer orders or return the money. Regarding specific complaints, the trader has not yet provided explanations to the Consumer Disputes Committee.

If the goods have not been delivered within the period agreed with the consumer, the consumer must first ask the trader to deliver the goods within a reasonable additional period. If the obligation is not fulfilled within the further period, the consumer has the right to request compensation for damage or to withdraw from the contract and obtain a refund of the amount.

The Agency recommends consumers to be aware of the problems encountered with the merchant and to consider the risks fully before placing an order with IKOLY OÜ.

TTJA has the right to inform the public about the prevention of danger, suspected danger, threat or disorder in order to enable consumers to make informed and well-considered purchasing decisions.
