URMAS PAET ⟩ The possibility of survival of small towns

The most obvious example is Russia’s continued aggression against Ukraine, a neighboring country that has a population more than three times smaller. To bring Ukraine back into its sphere of influence and directly conquer part of the territory, the permanent member of the UN Security Council uses Russia’s direct military power and commits tens of thousands of war crimes.

However, the permanent members of the UN Security Council have been given a special responsibility to protect world peace and to prevent military conflicts and, if they arise, to help resolve them, with the aim of maintaining and protecting the right international, which should also allow the existence of small and medium-sized countries. These countries should no longer fear the use of military force by larger countries, but all possible disputes and disagreements will be resolved through negotiations. Now, however, it was a permanent member of the UN Security Council who started the violence against a neighbor much smaller than himself, undermining the foundations of the UN, the UN Security Council and international law . The country that is supposed to help ensure world peace has itself started a war of aggression.
