According to Lennart Lomb, head of communications at Eesti Energia, the group wanted to remember both its employees and customers during the holidays, but it did so personally, with modesty and with a small environmental impact.
“As in previous years, Eesti Energia did not run an expensive media campaign during the holidays or gifts to corporate clients, as is customary in many companies, but we direct these funds to high-impact educational and follow-up projects such as Lae End, Energy Avastuskeskus, Rakett69 or Positron, which aim to spread scientific education among young people and thus promote the growth of necessary professions in the field of electricians, engineers and others,” Lomp said. In the past, Eesti Energia has also given families with many children the opportunity to visit the Energia Discovery Center, the Latvian and Lithuanian branches have also supported local SOS children’s villages.
This year, as a long-term partner of the Estonian health pathways, we wanted to give people an additional incentive to exercise outdoors during their holidays. “That’s why we decided to create a slightly more special lighting solution for the six health paths, which can also be used in subsequent years,” explains Lomp.
As for Elektrilevi’s video, according to the Eesti Energia representative, both the greeting and the video were largely prepared by their employees, and additional help was needed for filming and editing. “The footage visible in the video was carried out during scheduled maintenance work on the corridors of the line, that is, during the filming the real problems were solved and not a single minute of this work was lost due to the filming”, confirms the manager of communication.
He added that, on the one hand, the purpose of the video was to recognize those men and women who, over the past year, have made great efforts to eliminate disruptions caused by difficult and long-lasting weather conditions, and on the other, to demonstrate that the work goes on in any weather and with all imaginable means.
