Vlahovic’s shot allowed Juventus to forget their autumn collapse – Soccernet.ee

Dušan Vlahovic’s powerful long-range goals allowed Juventus to exact revenge on Sassuolo for their relegation in September and maintain a two-point gap on Serie A leaders Inter.

Sassuolo won just five games all season, but inflicted their only defeat on both Juventus and Inter. On 23 September they filled the Juventus cage with balls, but now in Turin they didn’t come close to achieving an encore of the 4-2 victory.

Vlahovic opened the scoring before the quarter-hour mark, finding some space at the back of the area and using it to send a bomb over the bar. After warming up, the Serbian scored an even better goal in the 37th minute, sending the ball directly from a free kick over the crossbar into the corner of the crossbar.

Sassuolo also looked dangerous, Wojciech Szczesny was forced to make several masterful saves, but in the end Juventus had no particular problems maintaining the lead. September’s drop remained an anomaly, as in no other match have Massimiliano Allegri’s men scored more goals this season.

The final scorer was Federico Chiesa in the 89th minute, author of an error by Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli.

Juventus – Sassuolo 3:0 (2:0)
15., 37. Dušan Vlahovic, 89. Federico Chiesa
