Darta Zunte, a skeleton rider competing under the Estonian flag, took sixth place at the Junior World Championships in Lillehammer.

Germany’s Viktoria Hansova and Stefanie Votz made history when they tied for first place for the first time in the history of the Junior World Championships. Hansova achieved a time of 53.74 on the first pass, which was the fastest of the day, she finished the second pass with a time of 53.96. Votz finished the first pass with a time of 53.83, in the second pass she recorded 53.87.

The Germans who shared the gold medals both achieved a combined result of 1.47.70, the bronze went to Swiss Sara Schmied, whose combined result was 1.48.07.

Zunte, who moved to Estonia under the Latvian flag, finished the first run with a time of 54.21 and improved it by 0.12 seconds in the second run (54.09), taking sixth place with a combined result of 1:48.30. 0.60 seconds accrued since defeat for the winners.
