“I also called the SEB and they told me that a surcharge is now applied in Estonia when making payments to countries at high risk of sanctions,” Kompus noted and added that, after further investigation, he found this to be the case only at the SEB: “From 15 September 2023, an additional fee of 100 euros per payment will be added to payments made or received from a country at high risk of sanctions.”
“I found out that there was a little news about it some time ago and SEB also talked about it in some of its newsletters, but personally I don’t read these newsletters very carefully and this news was also missing. I believe there are still entrepreneurs like me , and this side could definitely be reflected so that others don’t end up in a similar bucket,” Kompus added in a tip sent to Postimehe.
