Elron will increase train ticket prices starting in the new year

“The increase in ticket prices is mainly linked to the increase in the price of infrastructure fees paid by Elron, which will increase by almost 2.1 million euros next year,” said Kristo Mäe, head of communications at Elron. “Furthermore, the prices of services and goods necessary for the provision of passenger rail services have increased significantly over the past two years.”

In Tallinn’s local train service, you pay by purchasing from a customer service representative

  • full ticket per zone from the new year up to 1.80 euros (previously 1.60 euros),

  • full ticket two zones up to 2.50 euros (formerly 2.30 euros),

  • full ticket three zones up to 3.30 euros (3 euros so far),

  • a full four-zone ticket up to 4.10 euros (previously 3.70 euros) e

  • full ticket five zones up to 5.50 euros (5 euros so far).

In long-distance trains, for example, it costs money

  • Since the new year, a full ticket purchased from the customer service agent of the Tallinn-Tartu regular ordinary train costs 12.90 euros (until now 11.70 euros), for an express train 15 euros (until now 13.60 EUR);

  • Since the new year, a full ticket purchased from the customer service agent of the Tallinn-Narva regular train costs 14 euros (until now 12.70 euros), for an express train 16.10 euros (until now 14.60 euros );

  • Since the new year, the full ticket purchased from the customer service agent of the Tallinn-Viljandi regular train costs 10.80 euros (9.80 euros so far), 12.40 euros for the express train (11.30 euros so far).

The discount system for train tickets remains the same, you can buy a ticket cheaper than the normal price on the Elron website.

The last time prices increased was two years ago, on January 1, 2022.
