Journalist Lev Kadik: Vladimir Putin lied to the Russians for four hours straight

Naturally, the first question was about the tasks that Putin considers most important for himself when he enters the next presidential term. And he immediately lied big time: he defined the main task not at all as the continuation of the war against Ukraine and the protection of its regime, but “consolidation of sovereignty, protection of citizens’ rights” and for some reason “consolidation of parliamentarism” . The last one is especially funny, because there is no parliamentarism in Russia. Instead, there is a fully obedient bicameral parliament that passes all of Putin’s laws.

Putin also said he intends to fight for sovereignty in the fields of economy and technology. He seemed particularly brilliant, because in the last two years of the war, Russia went from being the world’s fuel pump to being the fuel pump of India and China. In Russia the foreign currency, the dollar, has been replaced by another, the yuan.
