The day will be exciting, long and the competition will certainly give very high level results, both new national records and first results in the world rankings in the various age groups for both women and men.
Like last year, there will be a large number of athletes who won medals in the title competitions, led by Estonia’s best senior track and field athletes in 2023, Juhan Tennasilma and Liliana Torn. The best 35+ athletes from Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and Italy will also be present.
A comparison can be made regarding the weight of these competitions – which is more difficult, winning a medal in the title competition or winning first place in the open winter indoor competitions at the home of the Tartu KEVEK sports club, where representatives of all age groups compete in a long common line of competitors? Competitors are ranked in each event using the international WMA Age Odds (2023) system, where a competitor’s age does not give anyone an advantage in this competition. Everyone competes on equal terms, as if they were the same age.
This year too the competition will be very tight for both men and women in all fields. Special treats are definitely all the running and jumping areas. Numerous participations in shot put and relay competitions. Finishing in the top three in these competitions is a great achievement for any athlete. In addition to the trophy, the winners will also receive a 100 euro gift card!
This time there are almost 150 participants.
