The collaboration between Leclerc and Ferrari expands | Formula sports

Monegasque Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc has extended his contract with his current team, Ferrari. The Italian racing team did not specify how long the new agreement will be valid, but it is likely to be after 2026, when new technical conditions will be introduced.

“I am happy to announce that I will wear the Scuderia Ferrari uniform for many more seasons. I have dreamed of driving for this team since I was three years old: I watched the Monaco GP from the window of my friend’s apartment on the corner of Ste Devote and we were always looking for the red cars,” he said via the Ferrari driver’s press release.

“This team has been my second home since I joined the Ferrari Academy in 2016 and we have achieved a lot together, fighting through thick and thin for five years.”

“However, I believe that the best is yet to come and I can’t wait for the new season to start to make further progress and be competitive in every race,” continued Leclerc.

“My dream remains to win the World Championship with Ferrari and I am sure that in the coming years we will be able to experience great moments together and make our fans happy.”

The 26-year-old Leclerc will lead as the main driver of the Ferrari F1 team from 2019. This period includes five stage wins and 30 podium places. In 2022 he finished the season in second place overall.
