Top 5 tips for Renault Duster owners for a long ride without any problems

About the choice of oil, rust prevention and useful improvements.

“Duster” has gained a reputation as a reliable and passable crossover, although not without flaws. Our editorial board made the TOP 5 tips for Renault Duster owners.

Prevent chips and corrosion

The body is the most expensive part of the car, so you should pay special attention to it. In the reviews on Drom.ru, many owners note weak paintwork among the shortcomings of the Renault Duster. It’s easier not to wait for scratches and chips to appear, which later will begin to rust, but to protect the car in advance by pasting with special film the most vulnerable places: the edge of the hood, the edges of the doors and the trunk lid.

Also, foci of rust often appear on the chrome trim on the fifth door. Again, the armored film helps to prevent this – reliable care for the Renault Duster.

Avoid water

Another common complaint of “Dusterovodov” concerns moisture seeping through the joints between the roof and rear pillars in the trunk. “Life hack” specifically for such cases, shared a blogger from the channel “Go RASH” on YouTube. He sealed problem areas with a V-ribbed belt and sealant.

In heavy rain, water can get under the hood through the nozzles of the windshield washer, it is advisable to seal them as well, otherwise the moisture will reach the candle wells.

Fighting mud

The next tip that should be used immediately after buying a Renault Duster is to install seals on the hood cover so that dirt does not enter the engine compartment. Among the minuses of the French crossover, thresholds that are not covered by doors are also often featured. Because of this design, it’s hard not to get your pants dirty when landing.

However, among automotive accessories, you can look at the thresholds of “Clean pants”, which solve this problem. It will not be superfluous to purchase larger mudguards, since the standard ones do not protect the lower part of the car well from dirt.

Choose engine oil

It is no secret that regular replacement of oil in the engine is the key to a long ride without problems. For many owners, the selection of oil turns into a headache. Experts of the “Driving” portal advise pouring gasoline Renault Duster 5W40-5W50 in the summer, and 0W30-0W40 in the winter.

It is worth remembering that the brand and cost of oil are not as important as the regularity of the procedure and the maintenance of the Renault Duster. It is especially important to change the oil more often in difficult operating conditions.

Extend the life of the checkpoint

Photo: Renault Duster, source: Renault

For a manual gearbox, Renault does not at all provide for the replacement of gear oil. You can listen to advice only to those who do not plan to travel longer than the warranty period. At the same time, the manual transmission will “say thank you” for changing the oil every 60,000 km.

For the “machine”, the replacement intervals will be approximately the same. The manufacturer recommends for automatic transmission Elf Renaultmatic D3 Syn oil for a long ride without problems. It is also worth updating the oil in the angular gearbox after 30 thousand km and in the rear gearbox – by 60 thousand km.

Complaints will go to one place – Kommersant newspaper No. 112 (6833) from 06/29/2020

The Ministry of Communications proposed to make the public services portal a single window for complaints and appeals of citizens to authorities. Artificial intelligence (AI) will be used to process requests. The technology should also be used to verify the relevance of the responses to the initial requests, experts say. In their opinion, the public services audience can limit the possibility of criticism of government agencies, where only a little more than half of the country’s population have verified accounts.

It is proposed to make the public services portal a single electronic window for citizens’ appeals and complaints to the authorities, it follows from the bill (available to Kommersant), developed by the Ministry of Communications. Only a citizen registered in the unified system of identification and authentication (ESIA) of public services will be able to file a complaint or appeal.

144 million

visits to public services website recorded, according to SimilarWeb, in May

The portal will create a rubric of situations for referring requests, introducing automatic referral to an authorized body, receiving notifications about the progress of consideration, as well as structuring calls and using AI to process typical requests, follows from the explanatory note.

It will also be possible to file written appeals and complaints in multifunctional centers or by mail. The bill should come into force 180 days after publication, this time will be needed to adopt by-laws and finalize the public services portal.

According to the Ministry of Communications, every year citizens send at least 10 million letters, including complaints, statements and suggestions on various issues, to 250 thousand authorities at all levels.

About 65% of requests are already sent through forms on official websites or by e-mail, said Oleg Pak, the first deputy head of the Ministry of Communications. “This is often inconvenient – each time they are different sites, addresses, ways of filling in information – all this works extremely inefficiently. A citizen sends an appeal and does not know whether it was received or not, but to find out the fate of the appeal, you need to call the information phones, which are often busy or do not answer, ”he explains. The bill, according to the official, is aimed, inter alia, at solving these problems, as well as at increasing the efficiency of interaction between government agencies themselves when considering appeals.

This is not the only initiative of the Ministry of Communications to expand the functionality of the public services portal. As Kommersant reported on June 2, the ministry suggested that online aggregators of goods and services connect to ESIA on public services to identify users. The experiment should begin on July 1.

The current regulation, on the one hand, does not contain the necessary incentives to consider citizens’ appeals on the merits, and on the other hand, it allows using the mechanism for abuse, said Boris Edidin, member of the digital economy legal support committee of the Moscow branch of the Russian Bar Association. “There are frequent cases when high-level officials are forced to fend off planned provocations under the guise of mass and repeated appeals of citizens,” he says. Thanks to localization on a single platform and reliable identification of applicants, there will be more opportunities for evaluating and analyzing appeals, monitoring compliance with the review deadlines, and identifying mass problems, the expert believes.

But the problem of assessing the effectiveness of considering citizens ’appeals – how satisfied the applicant is with the results of interaction with the state agency, and the official is interested in resolving the issue on the merits – has not been resolved in the bill, Boris Edidin emphasizes.

Potentially, AI could analyze the relevance of the rules of law given in the responses of departments to the initial appeal of citizens, believes Nikolai Legkodimov, head of technological practice at KPMG in Russia and the CIS.

Another potential weak point of the single window system is reassignment routes, adds Mr. Legkodimov. “They should not violate the basic principle, when the complaint cannot be directed to the agency to which they complain. Control should be provided, which is also relevant for the manual process – the adjustable length of the chain and the transparency of the settlement process, ”he says, assuming that automated analytics should identify the problem areas.

In addition, the registration itself on the public services portal may become an administrative barrier in creating a “one-stop shop”, which will limit the possibility of criticism of state and municipal authorities, Mr. Yedidin warns. As of June, the number of citizens registered in ESIA was about 119 million people, and the number of verified accounts was 69.5 million (data from the Ministry of Economy) with a population of the Russian Federation in 2020 of 146.8 million people.

Preferential car loans expanded to electric cars – Business – Kommersant

The government has officially increased the budget of the preferential car loan program to 22.5 billion rubles. and approved new rules for access to such state support. For example, families with at least one child, health workers and those who give the car for a trade-in on the down payment now have the right to a discount of 10–25% of the price of the car. You can take a soft loan only for a car no more than 1.5 million rubles, localized in the Russian Federation. Although formally the program now extends to electric cars, it is actually impossible to purchase them because of the localization requirement, since such cars are not manufactured in Russia.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved the amendments to the “First Car” and “Family Car” preferential car loan programs, as follows from Decree No. 907 of June 23. The government’s website notes that the program budget this year will be 22.5 billion rubles.

As part of preferential car loans, the buyer is entitled to a 10% discount on the cost of the car, but for the Far East its size is 25%. Now the maximum discount can also be obtained when buying an electric car. At the same time, there remains a requirement for the localization of cars purchased on credit in Russia – they must gain 1.4 thousand points under the 719th decree.

Since electric cars in Russia are not produced at all, in practice it is impossible to buy them with a soft loan.

New rules reinforce the opportunity to buy a car with it worth up to 1.5 million rubles. Price limit of 1 million rubles. acted in 2015, after which the cost steadily increased until 2019, when it was again reduced from 1.45 million to 1 million rubles. In fact, this fact, coupled with additional requirements for the level of localization of cars, significantly limited the list of cars covered by the preferential car loan program – the main financing was focused on Lada. From foreign cars, only Renault, two Hyundai models (Creta, Solaris), as well as one model Volkswagen (Polo), Skoda (Rapid) and Kia (Rio), fall into the program.

At the same time, with an increase in value, the range of brands acquired through preferential car loans did not increase.

Under the new rules, access to preferential car loans was given to families raising at least one child (previously two children), employees of medical institutions, as well as those who handed over the old car for a trade-in in payment of the initial payment.

Only a car older than six years old, which was owned by the borrower for at least a year, can be handed over to the trade-in, the resolution says.

In May, in the first month of easing restrictions amid the coronavirus, according to the United Credit Bureau (OKB; it also has data from Sberbank), citizens took 28.2 thousand car loans worth 22.4 billion rubles. The number and volume of loans issued compared with April more than doubled.

In practice, both the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the concerns participating in the programs informed about the launch of new access rules even before their approval – from the beginning of June. In addition, the document itself says that the new maximum cost of a car in preferential car loans (1.5 million rubles) applies to cars purchased from March 1, 2020.

Olga Nikitina

In Russia, there is a short-term surge in demand for cars after an almost two-month downtime of the dealer network. Against this background, AvtoVAZ postponed the transition to a shorter work week until the end of summer. The manufacturers and dealers interviewed by Kommersant agree that sales have grown compared with the failed April-May indicators, but this is due to temporary factors in deferred demand and increased government support. The real picture will be clear only in September. So far, the industry believes that by the end of the year the market will fall by 30%, with some players assessing this scenario as optimistic.

Media: Kosovo’s head Hashim Thachi may announce his resignation

The head of the unrecognized Kosovo, Hashim Thachi, may announce his resignation, according to the national television channel RTS. According to them, today, June 29, at 20:00 (21:00 Moscow time) Mr. Tachi will address. The subject of the message has not been officially disclosed.

The Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Hague Crime Court in Kosovo charged Kosovo President Hashim Thaci with crimes against humanity and war crimes during the 1998-1999 Serbian-Albanian armed conflict.

Kosovo proclaimed its independence from Serbia unilaterally in February 2008. Opinions of countries regarding the recognition of Kosovo were divided. The USA, European countries, Australia, New Zealand and a number of other countries recognized the independence of the republic. Russia does not recognize Kosovo’s independence. The same point of view is shared by Serbia, China, Israel, Iran, Spain, Greece and other countries.

Initially, the appeal of the head of Kosovo was scheduled for Sunday, June 28, but it was postponed for one day. If Hashim Thaci resigns, this will be the third time that Kosovo is left without senior officials on war crimes charges. Earlier, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinay twice resigned due to a lawsuit in the Hague Tribunal and an investigation by the prosecutor’s office of the Special Court, the channel notes.

After the accusation against Hashim Thachi was made public, EU foreign service spokesman Peter Stano said the EU did not comment on the actions of the Hague Court, but strongly supported its work. The Kremlin said they are closely monitoring this situation.

Tank universal mounting foam in the average cost of 300 rubles, so there is nothing surprising in the fact that motorists sometimes get this tool for a “rainy day”. Edition Versiya.info made the TOP 3 examples in which the cars were subjected to this unusual “repair”.

In the first place, as a demonstration of the most contentious example of tuning, located VAZ-2109, which is covered with foam literally “from head to toe”. Even the original body color really not consider out – “fluffy” the Russian car has been left untouched except the wheels. Next is an old Hyundai Sonata, which, judging by the radiator grille, released another in the last century. Most likely, the Korean sedan a good “arrived” on the side, not otherwise explain what the owner of the car decided to “zamenite” left wing, coupled with a headlamp and a piece of the bumper as a temporary solution to “hold on” to the service and not fall apart along the way, polyurethane foam is fine.

Finally, closes the TOP-3 “repair” cars with foam German “luxury” in the face of the 20-year-old Mercedes CLK. At the start of sales of “German” was a cute car with outstanding reliability and durability, but over the years of inactivity at the dump “mers” acquired the look of a decrepit “old”.

It is not surprising that the owner of the car, buying a CLK for a song, tried to give him a “second life”: the remaining body parts neatly cut, extra – shot, Mercedes filled with foam. Unlike VAZ-2109, the owner of the German “premium” tuning project finished, polished “Mercedes” so that in his 20-year-olds not even believe it.

From “Perekupnoy” noodles to “more cool” Duster

Local jokes appear on many manufacturers, the French brand is no exception.

Despite the market slump in may 2020, Renault managed to take the fourth place in sales among all automakers. As reported by AEB, a bestseller of the brand is the Duster. Paying tribute the popularity of Renault in Russiawe offer to evaluate the TOP 5 memes about the French brand.
Recently appeared in the sale of the updated Renault Kaptur, and the Russian version of the crossover is different in appearance from the European Captur. Latest so much reminiscent of “Arkan”that the cars could be confused, if you remove the glasses, like Peter Parker in the picture.
Kaptur, though not got a led “boomerang” around the headlights, now has more in common with Renault Arkana, because during the restyling of the “Capture” got a 1.3-liter turbo engine capacity of 150 forces.

The second image is a play on the expression “to hang noodles on the ears”. As you know, these pastas are wheat, rice, buckwheat, but the author of the meme came up with another kind of noodle – “percuoco”. Try it, going to choose a used Renault Logan one of the most popular models among taxi drivers.

The character immediately following three pictures was the Renault Duster. Like any machine, a French best seller is not deprived disadvantagesone of which are doors, not covering the rapids. Because of this when landing in a “Duster” easy to stain your pants.

Another frequently occurring problem in Duster – misting of the headlights. This may seem like a small thing, but the resulting condensate not only affects the quality of light, but leads to corrosion of metal parts.

To understand the last meme, just remember that the popular “French” is turned version called Nissan Terrano. The inscription in the picture translates as “Daniel” and “More cool Daniel.” Just as “more cool” Renault Duster and trying to look like “leapnet” which is more expensive.
